Should You Soak Your Egusi Seeds Before Planting Them - How Long?

Should You Soak Your Egusi Seeds Before Planting Them - How Long?

So, if you buy egusi from the market, is it advisable to sock it before planting, if yes how many days should it be soak?

Please don't soak your egusi before planting, whether it is the peeled egusi or unpeeled. You don't have to soak it in anything. You plant (2) two per hole and they will germinate in 3 - 4 days. Just make sure your seeds are good and unpeeled. You only plant it when rained. Two (2) per hole and one (1) miter apart.

However, I do understand most people worries. When you buy your egusi in the market, there will definitely be some seeds that are not viable among them. You put them in water, the viable ones will settle at the bottom of the container while the non viable ones will float. Discard those that float and sun dry the viable one. However, please you don't have to soak your egusi before planting. Plant directly with the required spacing depending on how many seeds per hole you are doing.
