Best Medicine for Sick and Ill Goats: Simple Guide for Treating Common Ailments.

You've just started your goat farm and you noticed that your goats do fall sick and ill. Which medicine do you need to buy?

You should have asked for how can you or are you going to manage to keep them healthy. Don't substitute good management with use of drugs. Instead of buying medicine, you should be aware of the reason for illness and take the precautions  Learn measures to guide against illness, prevention they say is better than cure.

If you are new into this business, you may need to contact veterinary officer, who can you help you on how to inject your goats. If they're sick and like they have a running stomach and they seem to lack power in their joints - you could use "Mega pain" and "Penicillin".

Plant plenty scents leaves, bitter leaves, aloe Vera and moringa. Go organic. it pays. Feeding them on bitterleaf builds their immunity to be resistant to stomach problems n cold related sickness such as cough and cattarh. Even though your goats refuse eating it, squiz d juice and give them once in awhile for prevention is better than cure.

Same goes with moringa, most goat eat it well. Still squize out alovera gell and give to them. Same goes with scent leave. There are still variety of herbs not mentioned here but the most important thing is that most herbs which works for human also works for goats, talking out of experience o, I rest my case.

Get the following as a starter up:

1. Dip

2. Dewormer, worms tend to delay grow hence reproduction delayed will affect you numbers. Deworm before rains and immediately after rains

3. Mult vitamin, a vital incentive for your healt head.

4. Stock antibiotics (mega pen, oxject, tetracycline etc) and wound spray,  for emergencies.

Important of all get a pure breed male. Remember, the best medicine for Goats is the medicine of patience and simplicity. Get the right knowledge and training before startup. And don't forget, DEWORM FIRST.
