1. BLOSSOM END ROT: It's mostly caused by calcium deficiency in the plant. When you see grey or dark stains on bottom or internal black rot on the fruit just know it's blossom end rot.
SOLUTION: Use a foliar fertilizer rich in calcium chloride as an emergency control. You can apply calcium rich substances such as gypsum, burnt lime, slag lime etc.
2. PEPPER LEAVE CURL VIRUS AND CHILL THRIPS: This is worst encounter to have as a pepper farmer it's caused by pests like mites, whiteflies, aphid, thrips etc. The leaves curl during there feeding activities on pepper plants which makes the leave to be curled and twisted.
SOLUTION: Use Insecticide with the active ingredient Acetamiprid 20.0% SP, Abamectin, Imidacloprid 17.8% and lot's more.
3. FUSARIUM WILT: This is cause by fungus. The disease fungus enter through the root and interfere through the water conducting vessels of the plant.
The symptoms includes wilting with yellowing the plant and stunting of plant.
SOLUTION: Controlling the disease is very hard preventive measures is only advisable. Drenching the soil with Copper oxychloride (3g/l) before transplanting pepper at that particular location.
There are lots of diseases but these are the major ones. Preventive is better than cure in vegetable farming.
