Did you apply dry or fresh manure?

Look, you don't apply fresh manure, or the acidity will burn the plant. You did apply fresh chicken manure that's high in salt in a close range to the plant root. It should have been 1(minimum) feet away. Just pray for continuous rain/manually apply a lot of water to the root by digging and make the root visible. So that the water can wash of the salt content. As far as the root hasn't die completely, it will shoot out more root for feeding after the application.

This salt of a thing, could it be one of the active ingredient in the production of herbicide. Try spray part of the solution on the vegetable. By the next day, they will appeared burnt as if they were sprayed with herbicide. There was a particular grass that died completely from the contact with the solution.

Salt and liquid washing soap kill grass. Apply plenty water to neutralise the acidity of the manure. Next time incorporate the chicken manure even before planting the seeds. Allow enough rain to reduce the acidity.

Next time mix the manure with top soil and wet it for 2-3 days. Also, you applied it too close to the plant. Apply plenty water, if possible remove the droppings first. The manure is not supposed to be too close or touch the plant. Go and shift the manure away from the root or stem of the plant. It's like you applied too closely.

The manure is too hot. You don't  apply manure directly. Mix with soil. Leave it for 3days or a week before applying to the plant. Next time mix it with soil very well before applying it to the plant. This happens if they have not fermented, so it was hot.
