Pigs can be very difficult to train and control. You may have heard many folktales, funny? Or might have had past experience with a relative who owned one. They are naturally stubborn and hardheaded.
A lot of people may not know that pigs have different types and species. They are different in skin color as humans. Pigs can be pink, black or brown skin - with short legs, a broad nose and a short tail which curls round itself. Pigs are kept on farms or in well built "Pen", for their meat (called PORK). They grunt and spueal all day.
Types Of Pigs And Their Names
Before buying pigs for your pig farming business, you need to be familiar with the types, names and features, so you don't end up buying the wrong species. For instance, you end up buying a female pig instead of the male pig. And the male pig instead of a female pig. Before making the move to make purchase for a pig, you should know some are "CASTRATED", and some are not.
CASTRATED - is to remove the testicles of a male pig.
Boar: This is a male pig that has not been castrated.
Sow: This is a female pig.
Hog: a pig, especially one that is kept and made fat for eating. They are also referred to as "wild pig". This male pig is called hog because it has been castrated.
Piglet: a young pig.
